About

Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Darcie completed an Honours Bachelor of Physical and Health Education with a concentration in Health Promotion from Laurentian University in 2004. She went on to complete a Master's of Science in Epidemiology from University of Ottawa in 2006. After a brief career in research at the Women's Health Research Unit, she took time off to home educate her three children.

Recently, Darcie has re-entered the workplace, becoming a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. She recently completed the Metriks Function Capacity Evaluation Test certification.

Darcie believes movement is medicine, and physical fitness is a key component of the prevention and/or treatment of chronic disease.  She is interested in providing a fun and safe environment for rehabilitation and client education. Some of her other interests include podcasts on evidence-based fitness principles, camping with her family, and rural living.
