Laurie Stewart

Physiotherapist

About

Laurie graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science (Physical Therapy) degree in 1999, and prior to that from the University of Queens with a Honours Bachelor of Science in 1993. Her work experience primarily includes private practice with a focus on orthopaedics and sports rehab, as well as experience in school setting, group homes, sub-acute care and long-term care setting.

She joined Pro Physio in August 2020. She has completed many continuing education courses including Manual Therapy Levels 1-3, including the treatment of TMJ, and a post-concussion symposium with Sports Therapy Canada. Laurie has also done training in precriptiom of assistive devices with ADP and therapeutic taping and kinesio taping from APTEI and Roger Breton, D.C., respectively.

Laurie became interested in pursuing physiotherapy as a profession when she took an anatomy course during her undergrad and really enjoyed it. Her treatment approach is to provide a goal oriented, active approach to treatment.

Outside of work, Laurie keeps busy as a mom of two girls and enjoys keeping fit with her husband and children.
